Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sensitive printer I used one of these from a friend in the summer and just had to get one, and now i own my own. I produce sensitive, subtle images that are of nature, women and abstract urban subjects. This is the printer to produce those with the full gamut of tones and colors. My sixth Epson printer and the best so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Accident Rectified My new p800 suffered an internal problem and I was devastated. I had used my old Epson 2200 for 16 years. So I BELIEVE in Epson. Yes, I was sent a new printer and basically overnighted it to me. That's what the definition of loyalty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Setup problems I got this today. The hardware setup was fine, but the software setup was a nightmare. I downloaded the setup from the website as shown in the quick start, and tried to do the wireless. It failed. I turned off the firewalls, antivirus, VPN and it could not find it. I did the wireless setup from the printer itself instead of the setup program and it said success, and I could ping the printer from the PC. But the setup program still could not see it. Then I turned off the wireless on the printer and plugged in the ethernet cable. Again, I could ping it, but the setup program could not see it. Then I unplugged the ethernet and plugged in the USB. Then it worked. What a pain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big Learning Curve and Poor Setup Instructions I bought this printer because my old faithful Epson Stylus Photo 2200 would not work on my last two 64 bit computers. Also, after trying to download drivers for it to work on my new computers and it failed even with tech support, I had to purchase a new printer or give up being a fine art photographer. I like the Epson brand and love using Ultra Premium papers. I have two masters degrees and I had the devil of a time getting everything downloaded (at least 7-8 times I downloaded everything only to find that it would not connect to my Wi-Fi and two days of frustration. After extreme frustration I called tech support several times to get assistance with connecting to Wi-Fi. With a huge "Whew!", I have just now gotten connected. I know that my problem was that the printed setup guide that came with the printer was not detailed enough, and the online instructions given while downloading and installing everything were not detailed enough. Also, I am not used to all functions being done on a small, tiny screen on the printer. I highly dislike that, and I'm using nice words. It was extremely troublesome when the Wi-Fi stalled and would not continue installing - nearly a dozen times. Only with tech support (and only after he could see my screen and he, himself had me download the drivers, etc., four times. Then, after several tries, and having to plug the USB cord directly into the computer, would anything work. I finally had to use an alternate selection to connect to Wi-Fi by finally bringing up a teeny weeny keyboard to type my password on the printer screen. Epson should make all of this possible on the computer screen and keyboard. I'm sure that my learning curve will continue for a while until I get used to all printer controls being on the printer and that tiny screen. Then I pr4dict that I will enjoy this printer. I'm also going to have to get used to way more expensive printer cartridges, which are at least much larger than my old Epson 2200 (which still works on a donated computer with 32 bits).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Color! Wireless hook up to my Mac was easy. The first few prints are wonderful - I know I am going to like this printer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Epson P800 works well so far I've owned the printer for a few days now and I'm very happy with the performance so far. Fairly easy to set up on my wireless network but I had to use the printer keypad to be able to enter my wifi password since there was not a means to do it from the P800 software on my PC. Prints are perfect!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Communication Error When it prints fully the results are beautiful; the problem is there is a 'communication error' partway through printing ALL THE TIME! I have wasted so much ink and so much expensive paper getting half prints. This is a very common issue if you google this printer. The print will in no way resume where it left off and I have to start again with a fresh sheet. The problem persists with both WiFi and USB connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greater Potential, Easy Set-up I have been using Epson printers for probably 20 years or more since having a service issue with Canon, Inc. with one of theirs. Having discovered that many printing companies have started using the Epson print heads, I decided to give them a try... I never looked back. We have a family of accomplished photographers. I was a mentor for my Wife and my Sister and I got her husband into photography. Now we all use Epson printers. She's using the P400 while I just got the P800 and our images win awards everywhere we show them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Printer - Sort I just purchased an Epson SC P800 - my first quality photo printer ever. After printing several photos out of Adobe Photoshop CC I got this error message: There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents". Worked with Apple support initially until they finally said this is not an Apple issue. Attempted to contact Adobe support with no luck. Search the internet and found that many have had this same issue with both PC's and Mac. The simple fix - hoover over Print and then press and hold space bar didn't seem like a very good solution. Several posts suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the print driver which I just completed. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Why can't Epson, Apple and Adobe learn to play nice together?

1 Ink lightfastness rating based on accelerated testing of prints on specialty media, displayed indoors, under glass. Actual print stability will vary according to media, printed image, display conditions, light intensity, humidity and atmospheric conditions. Epson does not guarantee longevity of prints. For maximum print life, display all prints under glass or lamination or properly store them. Visit www.wilhelm-research.com for the latest information.

2 2 Cartridge yields vary considerably based on images printed, print settings, paper type, frequency of use and temperature. For print quality, a variable amount of ink remains in the cartridge after the "replace cartridge" indicator comes on. The printer ships with 64 mL initial cartridges and part of the ink from the first cartridges is used for priming the printer.

3 Ink used in conversion varies considerably based on temperature and other factors.

4 Not all paper types or widths supported. Printer does not have an auto cutter; manual cut required. See the documentation at www.epson.com/support/p800 for details.

5 Print times are based upon print engine speeds only. Total throughput depends upon front-end driver/RIP, file size, printing resolution, ink coverage, network speed, etc. All times are in bidirectional print mode at 1440 x 720 dpi.

6 Wi-Fi CERTIFIED; level of performance subject to the range of router being used. Wi-Fi Direct may require printer software.
