Wireless Security Settings

You’ll need to know the following information to set up your printer on your wireless network:

    • Network name (SSID) - This is the name of the wireless network that is set up on your router or access point.
    • WEP key or WPA passphrase - If security is enabled, this is the network security password.

This information is stored in your network’s router, and may have been entered when the router was first set up. If you don’t know this information, you’ll need to contact the manufacturer of your router or the person who set up your network. You may also be able to log onto the router from your computer and check its setup screens. See your router’s instruction manual for details.

Note: The network name and security key or passphrase are case sensitive. Be sure to correctly note uppercase, lowercase, and numeric/special characters.

If the WEP key is 5 or 13 characters, it’s ASCII. If the WEP key is 10 or 26 characters, it’s hexadecimal.

Your printer supports the following wireless security modes: WEP, WPA, and WPA2.
