Can I scan Polaroid or other instant film photos?

• No, do not scan Polaroid or other instant film photos. These photos are too thick, and scanning them can damage the photo or your scanner.

  To avoid damaging your photos or the scanner, do not load the following types of photos in the scanner:

  • Polaroid or self-processed photos
  • Sticky photos (unless loaded in carrier sheet)
  • Photos thicker than 0.011 inch (0.31 mm)
  • Photos larger than 8 × 10 inches (203 × 254 mm)
  • Torn photos (unless loaded in carrier sheet)
  • Wrinkled photos (unless loaded in carrier sheet)
  • Curved photos where the thickness of the stack is greater than 0.07 inch (2 mm) (unless loaded individually in carrier sheet)
