I installed new ink cartridges and my product seems to be doing a long cleaning cycle. Is this normal?

• Yes. It takes several minutes for the product to prime its print head.
  
  Note:
  Wait until priming finishes before you turn off your product, or it may prime improperly and use excess ink the next time you turn it on. If the product stops moving or making noise, and the control panel lights don't stop blinking after about 5 minutes, turn off the product. If the  power light is flashing when you turn it back on, contact Epson technical support for assistance.
