How do I uninstall the Epson printer and Epson Scan software in Windows or OS X?

  • Follow the instructions below for your computer system:

    Windows
    1. Turn off the product.
    2. If the product is connected with a USB cable, disconnect it from the product.
    3. Click Start or , and select Programs or All Programs.
    4. Select Epson, select your product, then select EPSON Printer Software Uninstall.
    5. Note:
      If you see a User Account Control window, click Yes or Continue.
    6. Select your product and click OK. Then follow the on-screen instructions.
    7. Open the Windows Control Panel.
    8. In Windows 7 and Windows Vista, select Programs and Features—or, if you're using Classic view, select Programs, then click Uninstall a program.

      In Windows XP, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    9. Click Epson Event Manager in the list of currently installed programs and click Uninstall/Change (Windows 7 or Windows Vista) or Change/Remove (Windows XP). Click Yes or Continue if necessary.
    10. Click EPSON Scan in the list of currently installed programs and click Uninstall/Change (Windows 7 and Windows Vista) or Change/Remove (Windows XP). Click Yes or Continue if necessary.
    11. Click Next.

      In some cases, a message may appear to prompt you to restart the computer. If so, make sure Yes, I want to restart my computer now is selected and click Finish.
    12. Restart your computer.
    Macintosh
    1. Turn off your product.
    2. Disconnect the USB cable from the product.
    3. Do one of the following:

      Mac OS X 10.5/10.6: Open System Preferences, select Print & Fax, select your product and click the button.


      Mac OS X 10.4: Open the Applications folder on your hard drive, select Utilities, choose Printer Setup Utility, select your product, and click Delete.
    4. Do one of the following:

      Mac OS X 10.6: Open the Epson installation CD, then open the Common folder. Then:
      • Open the Printer folder and double-click the EPSON Printer Uninstaller icon. Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu and click the Uninstall button. Follow the on-screen prompts.
      • Open the FAX Utility folder and double-click the EPSON PC-FAX Uninstaller icon. Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu and click the Uninstall button. Follow the on-screen prompts.

      Mac OS X 10.4/10.5: Open the Epson installation CD, then open the Common folder. Then:
      • Open the Printer folder and double-click the EPSON Printer Uninstaller icon. Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu and click the Uninstall button. Follow the on-screen prompts.
      • Open the EPSON Scan folder and double-click the EPSON Scan Uninstaller icon. Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu and click the Uninstall button. Follow the on-screen prompts.
      • Open the FAX Utility folder and double-click the EPSON PC-FAX Uninstaller icon. Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu and click the Uninstall button. Follow the on-screen prompts.
    5. Restart your Macintosh.
