Does my product use some ink during the switching of black ink modes?

• No. The Epson Stylus Pro 11880 has separate print head nozzles for Photo Black and Matte Black ink. The Media Type setting selected in the printer driver determines which black ink is used for printing, except for media that support both and allow you to select the one you want to use.
