Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm Incredibly Impressed with THIS machine. To whom it may concern. I was hoping it would do what Iwanted it to do. And it DID. The Epson FF-640 did everything it was billed up to do ... All my photos were scanned fast. Thousands and thousands of photos from 50 years worth of photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, fast results! We were looking for an easy solution to scanning in our 1,000's of printed photos. After using an all-in-one, where you lift the top and place the photo to be scanned, we needed something more efficient. We searched online and continued to find good reviews on the FF-640. We purchased it at Best Buy and hooked it up. In a few short minutes we were scanning in photos by the hundreds. Yes, it is that easy. We adjusted the resolution from the fastest setting (300dpi) to the slightly slower (600dpi) setting, but were still scanning in photos at lightning speed. It actually made the scanner process fun. The scanner is a little pricey for what we had in mind, but the quality and speed made it a good decision. *The scanner did not come with the installation disc, instead directions to download directly from the website, which should mean the most recent version is always available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Item with a Few "If Only's" I bought this about a month ago and has it ever saved me some time. Like most around my age, I'm going through the family print "archives" and keeping some (in digital format) and tossing the rest. This scanner has saved me so much time compared to the alternative of usng a flatbed scanner, which is what I started to use on this project. The quality of the images is very good. My "if only's" are two: if only the software allowed for saving scans in .tif format (it saves only in compressed jpeg) and if only the naming options were a bit easier to use. My suggestion to those buying this great time-saver is to review each batch you scan for streak marks. Because I was working with old photos, I had to clean the scanner twice (not the rollers, which I clean as recommended about every 500 scans), but the protective glass over the scanning area. I say that because you don't want to scan hundreds of photos and then go back later and find there was a line streaking through all of them. A little eyeglass cleaner on a soft cloth and I was back in business in minutes. I would recommend this scanner to anyone looking for an easy-to-maintain, fast, easy-to-use scanning alterantive to a flatbed scanner for family photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small Footprint but Large Quality! I am scanning a large volume of family photos - I am so glad I purchased the FF-640 in order to accomplish my goal. I can set the desired resolution, insert a stack of photos into the feeder tray, scan both front and back of the photos and save to my PC so quickly! The scan is quick and sharp!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast scanning for photos and documents I have only used this scanner for about a month and I am more than pleased with the performance of this scanner. I am using it for a home office for scanning documents and photographs as well. Would recommend to any small business at this time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product - Installation Fair I just installed the software and ran a first test set of prints. The 'getstarted' URL takes you to a menu with enough options to be confusing. Otherwise so far, so good. My first scan did not scan the backs of the prints. I will have to read more of the training materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fulfilled its promise I bought this scanner after reading online reviews. I had some 2000 old color prints that I wanted to digitize and store on my computer and had the choice of doing it myself or sending them to a 3rd party. Glad I decided to buy this scanner and do it myself as I have the prints insexed the way I want them and I still have the scanner for future use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Scanner I brought this about a month ago and have already scanned about 5000 pictures, It is easy to use and as fast as they advertise. I scan at 600dpi and the photos just zip thru. It scans the original and if you have the enhancements checked in the settings it creates an additional photo with those enhancements (Auto Enhance, Remove red eye and restore faded colors). I have many photos that my mother took and they are faded, with the restore faded colors they look like they were taken yesterday.
