My computer does not recognize the product when I use a USB connection to set up the product. What should I do?

Make sure you restart your computer after you install the product software. If that does not help, try the following:
- Make sure the product is turned on.
- Make sure Epson ScanSmart and Epson Scan 2 are installed correctly. Reinstall the software, if necessary. You can download the software from the Downloads tab on your product's support page.
- Disconnect your product from your computer, then reconnect it.
- If you use a USB hub, connect the product directly to the computer.
- Make sure to use the USB cable that came with the scanner.
- If using the USB cable that came with the scanner does not resolve the issue, try a different USB cable.
- Try using a different USB port on the computer.
- If the scanner does not turn on after trying all of the solutions, uninstall and then reinstall Epson Scan 2.
