Can my product still print if an ink cartridge is empty or not installed?

No. The printer will not operate if any ink cartridge is empty or removed.
Always leave the ink cartridges installed in the printer until you have obtained a replacement, otherwise the ink remaining in the print head nozzles may dry out.
