How many ink cartridges does my product use?

    SureColor P6000, SureColor P8000

    The printer has nine ink cartridges, but it uses only eight cartridges at a time to print. The printer switches between Matte Black (MK) ink and Photo Black (PK) ink automatically, depending on the type of media you load.

    SureColor P7000, SureColor P9000

    The printer has eleven ink cartridges, but it uses only ten cartridges at a time to print. The printer switches between Matte Black (MK) ink and Photo Black (PK) ink automatically, depending on the type of media you load.

    Also, your printer uses either Light Light Black (LLK) ink or Violet (V) ink, depending on the edition you purchased. You cannot switch between these inks once the printer is initialized.

    Note: To disable automatic black ink switching, press the Menu button, then select Printer Setup > Auto Black Ink Change > Off.
