I replaced an ink cartridge, but my product shows that the same ink is expended or not installed correctly. What should I do?

  • The cartridge may not be seated properly, and might need to be reseated.

    1. Turn on your product, if necessary.
    2. Lift up the scanner unit.
    3. Follow the instructions to move the printhead carriage to the replace position.
    4. Press the ink cartridge down until it clicks into place. (If a cartridge is properly seated already, you may not hear a click.)
    5. Check the LCD screen to make sure the cartridge or cartridges are installed properly.
      Note: Epson ink cartridge printers are designed for use with Epson cartridges only, not third-party cartridges or ink. Other brands of ink cartridges and/or ink packs are not compatible and, if described as compatible, may not function properly or continuously.
    6. Close the scanner unit. The product starts charging the ink.
