Established in 1975, Epson America, Inc. is the U.S. affiliate of the Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation. The Epson name is derived from the EP-101, a groundbreaking electronic printer (EP) created to print times from official Seiko timepieces at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Subsequent consumer printer models based on the EP-101 were named "SON of the EP," which then gave way to the name Epson.
Innovation is in our DNA. From creating groundbreaking 3LCD projectors to developing Micro Piezo inkjet technology, we're passionate about bringing revolutionary products to the marketplace. We're currently developing the ultimate big screen experience with our HTPS-Projection technology—advancing a new screen standard for next-generation organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays, and extending our print technologies into the industrial sector.
At Epson, we help our employees develop in both formal and informal ways. We believe in feedback, which is why we conduct review sessions twice a year for all employees that include opportunities to discuss career growth. We also place a high value on education, which has led to the creation of the Epson Leadership Academy—supporting employees in acquiring the skills they need to lead teams and advance their careers.
Epson and the Environment
We strive to create environmentally-conscious products that are reliable, recyclable and energy-efficient. Our efforts include eliminating harmful substances, using LED light sources, creating efficient packaging and more. We firmly believe that products designed to use fewer resources will help ensure a better future for us all.
